I'd love to say Friday Night Disco is bollocks, really I would, but...

I love this.
Much prefer it to the wanky cover.
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 0:58, Reply)
There is a time and a place for both, I think
generally I am more in the mood for beepy music than I am acoustic guitar.
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 0:59, Reply)
I'm in the mood for piano
Playing and listening.

Sorry
had a minor fail just then.

I hate the American Beauty theme. Don't know why. Guess it's overused.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PZUSJMFd4w
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 1:12, Reply)
Oh no really?
Sorry. I love it - I only saw American Beauty for the first time last year and I think the soundtrack is amazing.

I wish Matt Bellamy would fuck right off with his talented little hamster face. *jealous*

EDIT - one of my favourite piano pieces ever. I'm trying to coax myself back in to playing my damn piano by re-learning this. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LXl4y6D-QI
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 1:15, Reply)
I only ever got halfway learning Butterflies and Hurricanes
got a decent way into Space Dementia though.

EDIT: Need to complete this. I can play 2/3rds.

Fiddly.
I was never that good, but then I never had lessons or indeed a piano to practise on as a kid/teen.
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 1:21, Reply)
It's my grade 8 piece.
That I've not taken :( The other piece I actually liked was this:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzH7INvYROc

No way as good as this girl. Getting 29/30 at grade 8 is just STUPID.
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 1:25, Reply)
Also, this is one of my favourite pieces to play
I love Debussy.

(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 1:26, Reply)
I was about grade 5/6
when I practised most days. I can probably still hammer out grade 3/4 with ease, but a 5 or 6 would be a struggle now. Also, my eyesight's gotten more crap since then and I have to squint to both see and work out the notes.
/getting old fail

EDIT - fucking hell that girl is good.
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 1:28, Reply)
I probably got to around grade 8 standard, but my repertoire is crap.
I either play old grade pieces, or things from the Children's Corner Suite. Or occasionally teach myself easy bits of Chopin.
Oh, and the Gnossiennes. Fucking love the Gnossiennes.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1YHnYX8xfM Second favourite to play. Only not first because I'm not as good and I can't do it justice.

Not my thing
nice skateboarding in the intro, shame about the kids being in uniform (and probably paid through their rich parents' rich agent?) and the music being a bit boring (TO MY EARS..), not my thing

I've been listening to quite a lot of Dresden Dolls, especially an album I've not listened too in years.
Ditto Muse. I'm just running out of new artists/music.

I listened to Coin Operated Boy the other day again
great song
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 1:02, Reply)
I'm partial to the Jeep Song for more crazy-man-related-troubles-themed songs.
Love Shores of California and My Alcoholic Friends at the mo.

That is possibly my favourite one

(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 1:09, Reply)
*shocked*
how can you not like him?
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 1:10, Reply)
Because he's an autism.
No really, he is...

I do like him though.
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 1:12, Reply)
He is a ruiner
long ago I was forced to leave a club because I split my face open while dancing to cars (the cover admittedly)

some years later I was forced to leave the reunion of same club because instead of the good music they were playing, Gary Numan came on and started playing shit.

I hate gary numan

Metronomy are ace.
They remind me of my eighteenth and being off my tits for about four weeks solid.
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 1:10, Reply)
Only got into them recently.
Always loved A Thing For Me and Radio Ladio, but properly listened to Nights Out and I love most of it. Just can't get into Holiday.
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 1:15, Reply)
I can't really listen to Nights Out unless I'm on something or other.
Pip Paine is a decent listen but again the above applies to me for that as well. The new single is mega too.

I think Asleep by The Smiths wins for me, admittedly it's a bit of a clichéd choice.
My mum banned me from listening to them when I was down in the dumps last year, the daft old mare.

So just look up Sounds of Da Police, Losing My Edge, May Nothing But Happiness Come Through Your Door, Donkey Rhubarb and Basscadet. And then The Number Song for afters.
