I always thought "hardcore will never die"
Was a sort of rallying call in the face of the seemingly inevitable - people get old and can't stomach fierce rave tunes anymore, then the kids move on to something different. However I've met a few 40+ original late-80s ravers who still love it. And the youngsters love discovering the old stuff. Wonder how many 60+ rave/oldschool trance/DnB/whatever fans there will be in the future? That could settle your question.

Every now and again I try to kick myself in the ass and tell myself to quit being so obsessed about the same old music I was into when I was 15. It's got me nowhere and it's arguably totally escapist. But then a couple of nights ago I was poring over my 1991 (?) Trance Europe Express CD booklet with my brother with particular attention to ravers Black Dog, who apparently are still going strong in Sheffield.
