I got some fruit pastilles because I was craving them
and as there was an offer, I got some Aero bubbles. And a bottle of Diet Coke. Anything goes, really, as long as it's quiet and tasty.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:24, 2 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
Very glad it was good
also you mentioned a good hairdresser. Name? After the last Toni and Guy fiasco I need somewhere new
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:26, Reply)
I did?
My friend uses Andrew Barton in Covent Garden, but it's £130 for cut and colour. Razor's Edge are fantastic (half the price for the same) but up in Manchester.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:27, Reply)
I do need a cut
mine is getting a bit ragged. There is nowhere in Oxford
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:30, Reply)
Toni and Guy academy in London?
They do my friend's, cheaply, and it turns out very well.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:32, Reply)
Worth bearing in mind
I just get a bit paranoid about my hair, especially since the bitch thinned it out last time, when my hair of all the hair in the world blatantly doesn't need it
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:33, Reply)
My hair is falling out :(

(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:34, Reply)
Why?!

(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:45, Reply)
Who on earth could justify spending £130 on a haircut?

(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:31, Reply)
She gets 20% loyalty discount.
It is a very nice haircut.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:32, Reply)
Yeah, but it's still over £100.
Maybe I'm just an uneducated troglodyte, but I really can't imagine any scenario in which a haircut that's been given the same value as six weeks' meals is a worthwhile investment.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:36, Reply)
I agree
I have been known to get the megabus home and get a haircut at the place that's cut my hair for 20 years rather than go to an expensive place round here.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:39, Reply)
Unless a friend cuts my hair for me
I just wait until I pass a place that says 'models required', a supervised student is just as likely to give you a resonable haircut as some bored 'professional'.

Not that I get my hair cut very often at all.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:42, Reply)
I'm in agreement here.
Although the missus cuts my hair so it costs me nothing except maybe a well cooked dinner every now and again.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:42, Reply)
It's colouring as well
and a good haircut is important. My hair is a bit shit at the moment and it definitely affects your appearance
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:46, Reply)
Were you party to the fruit pastilles debate of the other day?
Favourite flavours were being discussed.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:26, Reply)
I saw the thread, got a craving, ate Percy Pigs instead
Lemon and lime ones, natch. Then black, then orange, then red.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:27, Reply)
Lemon and lime? Are you mentally ill?
(Although on the plus side, based on your selections, I would share a packet of fruit pastilles with you).
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:28, Reply)
I like the citrussy ones the best.
Same method of eating goes for Starburst (though the lemon and lime are mixed togehter) and skittles.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:29, Reply)
Skittles sours are the ULTIMATE is chewy treats.
FACT.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:32, Reply)
Oh yes.
The raspberry ones are my favourites.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:32, Reply)
Skittles have sours?

(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:34, Reply)
As do starburst.
They're very good.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:34, Reply)
Get involved.

You didn't know about the red and black pastilles either, did you?
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:36, Reply)
No
but as you say, it's because I don't go down the sweetie aisle past the chocolate.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:37, Reply)
You need to get out of the cholocate mindset berk.
You're missing out on some sugary joy.

I had a packet of 'sweet cigarettes' the other day (they are called 'candy sticks' now), my nephew didn't like them, so I ate them. The tasted exactly the same as when I was a kid.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:40, Reply)
It'll never happen
chocolate and I are best friends. Had a sherbert fountain recently? They come in a plastic tube now, it's not the same :(
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:43, Reply)
I know. It's fucking bent berk, it really is.
God only knows what they've done to the sherbert dib-dab, I've not seen them in years.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:52, Reply)
Really?
they have them in the sweetie shop in town.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:54, Reply)
I was never a huge fan of sherbert to be fair though.
Now, the raspberry ruffle on the other hand.

Coconut, chocolate and a bit of a fruit flavour.

Oooh yes!
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:56, Reply)
Raspberry ruffle?
now those I don't think they make any more...
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:00, Reply)

You can still get them in both bar, and individual sweet form.
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:03, Reply)
It looks like a Bounty bar with raspberry jam in...

(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:06, Reply)
Apart from the obvious win....
Your point is?
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:07, Reply)
Sounds weird frankly
and it would probably make my teeth hurt. Plus I've never really liked fruit and chocolate in the same mouthful.
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:10, Reply)
FREAKOID.
Terry's chocolate orange? Hello?
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:11, Reply)
A notable exception, I grant you
my third favourite chocolate. Although I've fallen out with them a bit recently. may have fallen asleep in bed eating one. Electric blankets and chocolate don't mix...
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:13, Reply)
berk
You disgust me.
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:15, Reply)
Pfft, I wasn't even trying!
It's not like I didn't change the sheets afterwards, you know.
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:18, Reply)
Sucked them clean I'd imagine.

(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:20, Reply)
I'm not that desperate.

(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:23, Reply)
I was talking about chocolate.
Not men.
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:25, Reply)
Still not that desperate
although I am now sniggering to myself.
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:26, Reply)
Are you stoned?
Or have you realised you'd rather chocolate than a bloke?
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:27, Reply)
Stoned on a schoolnight?
no. I'm a good girl. I'm just chuckling away to myself as is my wont of an evening. Or early morning, possibly.
Chocolate or bloke... it's a good question.
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:30, Reply)
Make a chocolate man
You'll be happy then.
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:33, Reply)
The main things I miss about having a bloke
are hugs and sex. I can see this going not at all well with a man made of chocolate.
It'd make blowjobs waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more fun though.
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:34, Reply)
Depends if you like a fondant centre I suppose.

(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:38, Reply)
Now you are only making me snigger more!

(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:40, Reply)
Citrus is the best
if you swapped orange and black in your list, you'd be exactly right. I miss Opal Fruits though
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:32, Reply)
Opal Fruits were awesome
I remember when they introduced the blackcurrant ones. I was torn between being disappointed lemon and lime were together and excited over how tasty the new ones were.

Pink jelly babies trump citrus.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:33, Reply)
WHY DID THEY RENAME THEM STARBURST???
Fuck's sake, it was the perfect jingle... 'Opal Fruits, made to make your mouth water'.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:46, Reply)
And they conglomerated the best ones

(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:47, Reply)
Bloody mixed-race Starburst.
Comin' over here, nicking our Opal Fruits...
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:53, Reply)
And it's a MARATHON not a fuckin' SNICKERS
*Looks under the kitchen sink for the JIF*
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:48, Reply)
You are WEIRD IN THE HEAD
but I suppose, yeah, like Jeff says, we're confectionary yin and yang.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:33, Reply)
And as he said, makes sharing easier.
Your custard ranting makes me want custard. I love the Ambrosia stuff, though...
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:34, Reply)
Get the real custard
it's sooooooooo much better.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:46, Reply)
Where have I said that?
*Makes note not to share sweets with berk*
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:34, Reply)
I quote:
Lemon and lime? Are you mentally ill?
(Although on the plus side, based on your selections, I would share a packet of fruit pastilles with you).
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:38, Reply)
I didn't call anyone a Chinky though? Did I you MASSIVE RACIST

(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:40, Reply)
Hey!
why am I a massive racist?
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:46, Reply)
Because you live in Birmingham and it's full of darkies?

(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:47, Reply)
That surely makes me more.... unracist?
I must be pro-darkie to live here.
(, Sun 27 Feb 2011, 23:49, Reply)
I was thinking along the lines of
coming over here, turning our churches into mosques and stuff.

Still, blinding curries, though.
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:01, Reply)
To be fair I live in the frozen north.
The closest we come is when the local chavs come back from Magaluff with chronic sunburn.
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:07, Reply)
You can get a decent curry in the Toon, surely?

(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:09, Reply)
I don't know.
Not since the death of Abdul Latif, Lord of Harpole.
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:11, Reply)
God bless his soul.
Actually, in the town next to me the curry chef has won loads of awards. And Take That ate their after their 1993 tour.

This latter fact is not necessarily a mark of approval.
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:13, Reply)
There*
and no, it's not. Somewhere in Selly Oak has a similar commendation - and from Girls Aloud too I believe - and their curry is frankly crap.
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:16, Reply)
Also, the Rupali was an excellent curry house.
I had a date there once. Think his son runs it now.
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:16, Reply)
You had a date with Abdul Latif, Lord of Harpole ?

(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 0:18, Reply)
Who are Ying and Yang then, eh?
Come on, answer me that.
