I just don't want them
and can't really list reasons without sounding shallow and self-centred.

I am those things, but I try and keep it hidden.

I agree with you
but I have another reason, which is the one I whip out in polite company.
(, Fri 11 Mar 2011, 14:31, Reply)
is it a real reason?

(, Fri 11 Mar 2011, 14:31, Reply)
Yes.
Might be completely unfounded in SCIENCE though.
(, Fri 11 Mar 2011, 14:32, Reply)
are you going to share it?

(, Fri 11 Mar 2011, 14:33, Reply)

The reason? It's not, really.

(, Fri 11 Mar 2011, 14:33, Reply)
Same here.
I like kids but just never wanted my own apart from a funny turn I had about 10 years ago. Luckily it went.

Are your reasons along the lines of
"I value and enjoy my spare time and am unprepared to completely relinquish this, along with my various hobbies, sex life and any chance of getting a decent night's sleep for the next decade or so"?
(, Fri 11 Mar 2011, 14:35, Reply)
yes
and also, I don't have enough money as it is
(, Fri 11 Mar 2011, 14:38, Reply)
Ironically, I always used to want kids
Having the above illustrated to me, first verbally and latterly demonstrably, has brought me round to Ms Foxtrot's way of thinking
(, Fri 11 Mar 2011, 14:41, Reply)
in all honesty I'd be terrified of it splitting me and the mrs up
it's touch and go anyway because I'm such an insufferable bastard
(, Fri 11 Mar 2011, 14:43, Reply)
Maybe after a year of mopping up after a similarly insufferable bastard with no respect for sleep patterns and appalling bowel cotnrol
she'll learn to appreciate you more
(, Fri 11 Mar 2011, 14:45, Reply)
hmm, you make an interesting point

(, Fri 11 Mar 2011, 14:46, Reply)
There are probably other, better, less dramatic ways
to get your missus to appreciate you. Flowers, say

"We already have a dog *heavy sigh* just don't think I could go through all that training all over again with a baby, it eventually learns to talk back"
