Don't accept it, berk.
That way lies danger and the faint whiff of Kanga pants and desolation.

Evening DG
How are you?
(, Mon 14 Mar 2011, 0:12, Reply)
Knackered, Jeff.
Was in Glasgow on Friday for Levellers / Wonderstuff gig, which was marvellous. The missus has just got from seeing them again in Newcastle (her mate got free passes), and has returned minus her bra, which is now probably being used to clean the windows on their tour bus...

Two gigs, two cups.
you could make a film out of that.

I've always found Miles Hunt to be an entertaining front-front man. Did they play 'Circle Square' and 'It's yer money I'm after baby'?
(, Mon 14 Mar 2011, 0:16, Reply)
Yep.
They now also have a rather hot female fiddle player. Miles was in a very good mood on Friday night, too.

Glad you enjoyed it!
Was it a 'beautiful day'?
(, Mon 14 Mar 2011, 0:23, Reply)
No, it was pissing down in Glasgow all day Saturday.
And snowing. We holed up in a few pubs until it was time to get the train.

Sounds like a top weekend DG
The Levellers are one of those strange bands, I managed to see them about 4 times (by accident) in the space of about 6 weeks, and I've never seen them again since.
(, Mon 14 Mar 2011, 0:26, Reply)
They played Levelling the Land in its entirity
plus some b sides and a couple of later tracks (of which Beautiful Day was one). Superb.

Are they touring together
Or was this more of a one-off-type thing?
(, Mon 14 Mar 2011, 0:33, Reply)
No, touring together.
Good combination.
(, Mon 14 Mar 2011, 0:35, Reply)
I can imagine.
Got any other gigs booked in at the moment?
(, Mon 14 Mar 2011, 0:37, Reply)
Who, me or them?
If me, then no apart from a mate's charity night on Good Friday; three very good local bands, playing a benefit gig for another mate who died suddenly last year. Apart from that, nothing - need to start trying to get the overdraft under control again.

Any news on your redundancy?

Just waiting on confirmation of a date.
Could be end of this month, or end of June. It's not a case of 'if' but 'when'. I just want to know so I can plan properly.
(, Mon 14 Mar 2011, 0:43, Reply)
Well I hope the transition goes smoothly for you.
How long have you been with your current employer?
(, Mon 14 Mar 2011, 0:46, Reply)
4.5 years
but I have 19 years of continuous service, so the payout is worth taking. I can pay off some debt and have enough to live on for a year, although I hope it doesn't come to that and I get another job fairly quickly. I am bricking it a bit, though.

On that note I'm off to bed. 'Night all!

I once "donated" my boxer shorts to a hen party
that was going around collecting them. I was drunk, wish I hadn't in the morning.
(, Mon 14 Mar 2011, 0:16, Reply)
Ewww!

(, Mon 14 Mar 2011, 0:17, Reply)
Seconded.

(, Mon 14 Mar 2011, 0:17, Reply)
Sorry
I thought this was the place to air our dirty laundry.
(, Mon 14 Mar 2011, 0:28, Reply)
Well you gave your dirty laundry to a hen-party.

(, Mon 14 Mar 2011, 0:33, Reply)
That was the gag I was going for
but they weren't dirty I can assure you. I haven't done anything that stupid in a while thankfully.
(, Mon 14 Mar 2011, 0:38, Reply)
Do you only wear clean under-crackers out these days?

(, Mon 14 Mar 2011, 0:40, Reply)
These days!?
I've always been an OCD clean freak thank you very much.
