I'm keeping my pledge to stay off the cider.
Stella and vodka = Win!

Tonight I might have to stay in unless my recovery rate improves.

I got home just after midday today.
And have snoozed all day on the sofa.

I'm now trying to watch the football.

That would be quite an impressive feat, actually...
If they could all do that simultaneously I imagine the government would be inclined to listen to them.

It's the fact that Phillip Green has put all of his shares in his wifes name
And she is no longer a UK resident, so they aren't paying tax on their earning/dividends.

Given that the 'hardship' of avoiding this tax seems to be 'live somewhere nicer, warmer and with better food than the UK' you'd like to think that govt would consider schemes that encourage the biggest earners to want to stay in the UK rather than taxing them at 50%.

crow is right
they'll all steal free clothes!
(, Sat 26 Mar 2011, 16:19, Reply)
I don't think it's necessarily the 50% income tax that would drive most people away
So much as the ridiculous rates at which alcohol and tobacco are taxed. In fact, I think cake is the one vice which isn't taxed to buggery in this country.
