YeahIt was still very watchable and the effects were excellent. The zombie with no legs in the first episode in the park was terrifying!

I think they spent a lot of their budget for the effects in episode 1.As for "The Wire" and "Lost", yes, I think they are excellent. A bit daunting for a newbie as there are so many episodes.
