I feel weird about my mum
she's lovely and all, but mostly I see her as a warning of what I could become if I don't exercise and maintain my mental faculties

I'm ok as I take after my dad.
All I have to worry about is a bad back.

In lots of ways I'm quite like my dad
same silly sense of humour, interest in sci fi and anything else that passes me by. But I think people are more likely to say I look like my mum. I get the fat, big boobs and yellow hair from her.

oh pfft
my mums side have horrible memories, my gran runs through the list of women in the family before getting to the right one
and my mum is very silly and daft, but she's so sweet and caring and genuine
too bad i got my dads anger and hatred for everything

I'm so glad I didn't inherit my parent's misanthropy, they can be right miserable fuckers sometimes.

do you ever notice doing things your parents do, not something you were taught, just a weird habit?
whenever I'm sitting in front of the computer I put my hand on my forehead like a salute, my dad does the same thing, only just noticed it recently

i once made an obscure pun
based on gespachio soup sounding a bit like Gestapo soup at exactly the same time as my dad. Then I realised genetics existed

my dad and I get into it sometimes about actors or musicians
starts off as "who sings that song? michael jackson?" "no, it's marvin gaye" "that's not right" "yeah it is" "i bet you five dollars it's not right" etc etc

I notice my parent's weird habits all the time, but not me doing them I don't think.
My mum occasionally whistles about eight notes from an eighties pop tune for no reason whatsoever, and says things in an accent or inflection that was relevant decades ago but totally lost on anyone else. Sometimes I think parts of her brain are trapped in a time warp.
