but this whole "buried at sea" thing doesn't feel right. They know the world want to see proof. Saddams kids were stitched back together for the newspapers to see.
Will it change anything? Yes I expect global terrorism to disappear overnight. In my day terrorists were friendly irish rogues, with flat caps and bags of fertilizer. Oh and a lot more bombings happened in the UK and we didn't go out blowing up their leaders.
Who would I like to see dead? Mugabe.

that's not been confirmed. I wonder if they just found him dead of a heart attack or a stroke or something, and wanted to make it a military operation instead?
Although no harm in shooting up a corpse, really. And it might be better PR to have him "struck down by Allah" than murdered by yankee pig-dogs. So it is a bit baffling.

I suspect they found proof that he'd been killed in a previous mission. Of course, this is nothing except wild theorising, but after a decade of chasing him around Afghanistan and Pakistan and all the various attacks he's made against them, wouldn't you want to brag a little?

Muslims would want to be buried in the ground facing Mecca. Burying him at sea not only denies him that, but also stops any potential hostage situation demanding the body back etc.
Plus they possibly don't want an autopsy of the body done....who knows how much they kicked the shit out of him when they found him...

Denying him a 'proper' Muslim burial might also be seen as an insult by the sort of people who are likely to organise reprisals for his killing.
Although those people are probably going to organise reprisals anyway, so, as you rightly say, they have neatly sidestepped a possible hostage situation that way.

Detail is sketchy, granted.
