LOOK BEHIND YOU
If that didn't work, it was probably something Alex Ferguson said about taking his opponents seriously

Doctor Who was pretty freaky. Am overjoyed to be back at my desk. Good weekend?
(, Tue 3 May 2011, 13:14, Reply)
It was a cracking episode, was it not? Classic Moffat-style.
(, Tue 3 May 2011, 13:16, Reply)
Loved it. The problem with an episode that good which leaves so many questions unanswered is that the next one, and any others like it, are going to seem pointless and unsatisfactory by comparison.
(, Tue 3 May 2011, 13:17, Reply)
they solve the mistery bits by bits, telling us a little each chapter, so that they don't seem pointless.

and a long hiatus, halfway throughthe series. How will we survive the summer?????????
(, Tue 3 May 2011, 13:20, Reply)
it's going to be hard. I'm considering not watching it until the whole series is out and I can sit down and watch it all in an evening.
(, Tue 3 May 2011, 13:21, Reply)
I like this version. It's like it used to be, in the good old days, when we were never sure if they would all make it to the next episode.

but I liked the way things linked between the first 4 2005 series. This 5 and 6 seem to be completely disconnected to all that.
(, Tue 3 May 2011, 13:24, Reply)
I mean the OLD series. Each story was almost a distinct mini series in its own right.
(, Tue 3 May 2011, 13:26, Reply)
I have seen only a few chapters of those old ones. And, apart from that, I liked the way things linked between the first 4 2005 series (the new one). This 5 and 6 seem to be completely disconnected to all that.
(, Tue 3 May 2011, 13:28, Reply)
and the change in writer probably had an effect too.
(, Tue 3 May 2011, 13:31, Reply)
They were keen to give it a fresh start once RTD left. My only regret in this respect is that Martha's send-off didn't involve her getting horribly murdered
(, Tue 3 May 2011, 13:31, Reply)
if she hadfn't suddenly got frothy over the Doctor.
Though, to be fair, I could hardly blame her.
(, Tue 3 May 2011, 13:34, Reply)
Things like individually capable, or not intensely annoying. And, preferably, possessed of the tiniest glimmer of acting ability.
(, Tue 3 May 2011, 13:36, Reply)
They were both indeed utterly crap. But unlike Martha, they weren't being shown up by the acting ability of their Doctor. And half of the supporting cast
(, Tue 3 May 2011, 13:39, Reply)
How long is the hiatus?
(, Tue 3 May 2011, 13:26, Reply)
I may have to go out and do real life things. Like work. *shudders*
(, Tue 3 May 2011, 13:27, Reply)
so I assume that's where shit gets real.

Why would she tell me that, during a conversation about Doctor Who?
(, Tue 3 May 2011, 13:40, Reply)
and won't have anything else until the Christmas special. Then, probably nothing else until April/May. Isn't it like that?
(, Tue 3 May 2011, 13:29, Reply)
but I thought this series was being split in two or something
(, Tue 3 May 2011, 13:30, Reply)
when they killed someone. Skeletal aliens in suits, no problem.
(, Tue 3 May 2011, 13:17, Reply)
if they had been the Gentlemen from buffy.
But that bit where she looked in the window and she was covered in markings made me jump.
(, Tue 3 May 2011, 13:19, Reply)
and that hasn't gone down the Wombles route of putting in a female Womble in a helicopter. Modern kids TV remakes mostly suck.
(, Tue 3 May 2011, 13:21, Reply)
and they WERE the Gentlemen from Buffy, they were so obviously pilfered
