I met a guy the other week who has a PhDand apparently he nearly didn't get his old job, because he got a 2:2 in his BSc.

He shouldn't have been allowed on a PhD course with a 2:2 to be fair.that's probably more the issue, it would have raised suspicion. It's against academic regs in most unis. Unless I guess he did an MSc afterwards.
