Not too bad thanks
other than the high winds last night wrecked my garden so I had to spend 3 hours in the pissing rain and howling wind trying to salvage what's left of it.

The cricket season continues apace. 4 games played, 1 won, 1 lost, 2 abandoned due to rain - and I scored a 50 in both of them.

Basically god is punishing me through the medium of shit weather.

So what's new at your end? Is the dancing season still on? Is there in fact a season at all?

Ballroom season is a relatively constant affair, just had a competition and have another in 3 weeks, so this is probably as frantic as it gets. You need a month to readjust after spending a day surrounded by that much fake tan.

You must put some on as well though, surely? You can't be the odd one out, you'd look like a ghost.

This weekend will hopefully be better weather. We're at home on Saturday (league) and Sunday (cup). My good lady is getting dead keen on it and we got her into the nets last week. She was actually pretty good. She's now rushed out and bought herself some kit. I'm a bit worried that my place in the team might be in danger!

Except you've introduced your lady to a man's sport and my missus has... you get the idea.

Thankfully, no fake tan for me yet. At the higher levels everyone wears it, but we're not that good yet. It'll happen eventually I daresay. Not that I'll be telling anyone on here about it when it does.

So you met your lady and then got into dancing? I assumed that you already danced and that was how you met.

So basically you got into it to avoid having to watch tall, fit, muscular men feeling up your woman? You wouldn't have sounded quite so gay if you'd told us that bit.

However if and when you go for the fake tan, then you will be confirmed as a 100% weapons-grade bumsexual.

You make an interesting point
Not about the fake tan, I know that, which is why I'll be keeping it zipped.

Men get into Ballroom for three reasons, in my experience; 1) to meet girls, 2) girlfriend made them, 3) weapons-grade bumsexual. I wish I was the first rather than the second, then she wouldn't be so much better at it than me.

This is one of your regular beefs
that she is a better dancer than you, but is that genuinely the case? If she was considerably better than you surely she would be quite unhappy and would have suggested that she looks for a (dance) partner more in keeping with her abilities?

As I don't believe that she's done that, I would have to assume that either a) you're not as bad as you make out; or b) she's not really that much better than you in the first place.

Sadly she really is a lot better than me, her knowledge of technique makes mine look pathetic, and she knows all my steps as well as hers. I'm better at performing because she gets nervous at competitions and I'm a massive show-off, however.

I have actually suggested that if she ever wants to win stuff she should dance with someone else but she's generously refused to do so on account of me being her boyfriend, which is awesome. She'd really struggle to find someone as good as her of sufficient height anyway.
