I think it was a Yorkshire Grey bashI was supposed to get Scarpe to leave with me when I got the last train but at the appointed hour he assured me he'd changed his mind and would be fine, so I left him to it.
Later he went into a programme and has been sober for a couple of years now. I was not a terribly good safety net for an alcoholic.

I didn't actually know he was an alcoholic at the timeor I'd have tried a bit harder.
