I ended up taking over the 'organisation' of it due to the organiser dropping out at the last minute

I got a bit too drunk, so after slowing myself down, I became extremely tired, and just to add to the fun, my fucking housemate had got himself locked out, so I had to head home an hour early.

First bash was at Mabel's Tavern last year, and only mildly unsettling.
Mind you, I had met Crow a few months earlier due to our mutual attending of a blues jam.
My master plan was (a) bring some food, and then (b) quickly get outside a few ales and then several more gins and tonic, and try neither to punch nor be punched. Seemed to work OK I think ... though the evening was a bit of a blur!

I may have to try to rustle up another batch, I owe a few to some other folks. Plus the impending bash of course.
I recently discovered the excellent dodge of taking the cooked, cooled and pressed beef back to the butchers' I got it from, and getting them to thin-slice it on their machine. That might sound lazy (well, it is) but when you've got close on 3kg of beef and it needs to be sliced to about 1-2mm thick, it takes quite some time!
