that article confirms what I thought about mumsnet
self-important, smug idiots.

I'm gonna sign up.

Mumsnet is the best of the mama forums.
They're educated, shun text speak, can spell, and are opinionated. It's much like here but with fewer paedo jokes.

They make me sick
they use DH and DD for "darling daughter" and "darling husband"
they're worse than /links.
(, Thu 9 Jun 2011, 10:42, Reply)
Best of a bad bunch.
All the other baby sites say things like "my lil bubs" instead of "my child".

Mumsnet is brilliant, every new mother should join it
It gives them an outlet to talk about their precious little fucktrophy and thus hopefully stop them talking to me about their kids.

IF YOU HAD CHILDREN YOU'D UNDERSTAAAAAND
Speaking as a mother.

Speaking as a mother *shudder*

(, Thu 9 Jun 2011, 10:53, Reply)
they sound like busy-body cunts
as a source of advice for mums I'm sure it is good, but that doesn't mean they are right about everything.
(, Thu 9 Jun 2011, 10:43, Reply)
Did you mean that to sound as patronising as it did?

(, Thu 9 Jun 2011, 10:43, Reply)
not at all
I meant it. Forums are ideal for passing on knowledge like that.

when it is based on experience, having a wide base to draw on is the best thing, particularly when everyone is a bit different.

But as successful as it is, they shouldn't take on the role of moral guardians

What have you learnt from this place?

(, Thu 9 Jun 2011, 10:44, Reply)
to take things less seriously
that I'm not as clever as I think I am
other stuff
(, Thu 9 Jun 2011, 10:46, Reply)
I've learned about goatse and tubgirl.
You can't just get that anywhere you know.
(, Thu 9 Jun 2011, 10:47, Reply)
This thread has taught me you're a lesbian.

Are you suggesting that mumsnet isn't in fact chock full to the rafters
with people who think that, because they've managed to squeeze a sprog out, their opinion is somehow worth more than other peoples'?
(, Thu 9 Jun 2011, 10:45, Reply)
Not entirely.
Plenty of people just talking inane non-child drivel. Much like on here.
(, Thu 9 Jun 2011, 10:50, Reply)
I maintain that the worst thing about the internet is that it has made ordinary people think
that anyone gives a shit about what they have to say.

in fact, the same goes for celebrities too.
(, Thu 9 Jun 2011, 10:51, Reply)
I no, rite?
I wrote all about it on my blog, you should check it out.
(, Thu 9 Jun 2011, 10:52, Reply)
