Poetry- damned good, so I'm told.
And I think the last one was either I Shall Wear Midnight or Unseen Academicals, not sure which.

don't know I shall wear midnight, so is probably that
what kind of poetry?
I'm not much into reading it and tend to like things like Jabberwocky and Tim Burton's The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy.

It's a Tiffany Aching one I think
so it's sort of another series (in that it's meant for teenagers but it's still discworld)

Ooo! Someone gave me that book as a present.
You need to get a copy of John Cooper Clark's poetry. I think you'll like it.

Four line, four verse form mostly.
A bit of personal stuff, some humour, one about chavs, that kind of thing. Mostly written during a nasty depressive phase in my final year of uni. I love being creative, but the crushing mental lows that went with it, not so much.

fair enough
I tend to find being carefree (and stoned) helps my creative juices flow. That's certainly when I play the best guitar solos

It was the state of mind that went with it, I think.
Hiding in my room all the time got rid of all distractions, allowing me to relax better.

One of my teenage poems that I remember.
Yossarian Yossarian
You're my kind of fella
Too bad that you're just fiction
In a book by Joseph Heller.
I had a crush on Alan Arkin at the time.

Still, I feel happier now I have it all in one place to send off to publishers. Of course, now I need to find a publisher.

Worth using the Writer's Handbook
get the most up-to-date copy you can i.e. the 2011 one. They have a list of publishers who accept unsolicited poetry manuscripts, and also a list of poetry prizes.
