I've lived in the real world for some time now
and I still can't talk politics seriously. Certainly not with the amount of weight he seemed to think his views had.
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:09, 2 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
He's probably going to do Politics A-level
Much as I did. I can tell you that people who do Politics A-level fit into one of two categories; those looking to learn out of interest in the subject matter (me) and those who think they know it all and try to tell their teachers that their views are outmoded (the twunts in my class)
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:12, Reply)
You always were the class rebel, you 5 fingered freak!

(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:13, Reply)
Everyone in my school had the normal number of fingers fella
I was quite normal until I moved to Norwich!
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:15, Reply)
It's quite true that anyone who thinks they want to go into politics
should be immediately banned from being involved in politics.
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:14, Reply)
I agree entirely
When I was 17 I couldn't help but wonder if politics might be an intriguing career path, then I met some of the sort of people I'd have to work with every day if I pursued it. Put me right off.
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:16, Reply)
The phrase "career politician" fills me with dread

(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:17, Reply)
Yup.
I agree entirely. Trouble is, who do we replace them with?
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:20, Reply)
Us, of course
Rory as PM, Monty as Chancellor of the Exchequer, Chompy as Home Secretary... what could possibly go wrong?
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:24, Reply)
Nothing. Nothing at all.
*Hunts for passport*
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:29, Reply)
London Cab drivers obviously.

(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:25, Reply)
some of the comments to plumdozer amused me
plumdozer says he's a working class hero and lists some achievements (in a fairly amusing way) and the guy says "I assure you I will do better than you"
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:15, Reply)
Brilliant
If there's one person you don't want to infuriate with an unjustifiably superior attitude... it's probably Monty actually, but if there's two, the second would be Dozer
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:18, Reply)
I asked him
Maths, Physics, Economics, Politics.
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:15, Reply)
judging by his ill-advised posturing on here
I think he's too thick to do maths and physics
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:16, Reply)
Some incidence of dodgy grammar.
When saying ADHD and dyslexia weren't real conditions, and the product of the poor education here in the UK, he came out with the classic "So... There's something actually wrong with their Brain's?"

-smacks head-
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:19, Reply)
hahahha, I missed that bit

(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:20, Reply)
I don't think ADHD is a real condition
some kids just need a fucking smack and some better parents.
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:22, Reply)
My Headmaster at secondary didn't believe in Dyslexia
He thought kids were just being lazy.

He was really old, though. He's probably dead now.
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:25, Reply)
There is a bit of a difference though
And there is no money to be made diagnosing people with dyslexia, whereas drug companies are making lots of money giving people ritalin and stuff, pluss parents would rather blame a condition that just accept that they are shit parents and have a total cunt for an offspring.
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:28, Reply)
*cries*

(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:31, Reply)
*high fives*

(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:31, Reply)
Interesting points all
Also worth noting that ADHD has only been "diagnosed" in recent years
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:34, Reply)
I didn't used to believe in ADHD
But seeing the difference of one of my friend's younger brothers before and after the drugs was a bit of an eye opener.
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:32, Reply)
Just because drugs made a difference to someone
doesn't mean they actually had a problem.

Look at Monty.
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:41, Reply)
Oh God, I forgot about that.
I thought he was a potentially bright kid until he came out with that bit of genius.
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:23, Reply)
The missus did Maths and Physics, and Further Maths
She tells me that it was absurdly difficult and only a genuine interest in the subject matter would see a student through it. And she's one of the smartest people I've ever met, despite her highly dubious taste in men.
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:20, Reply)
He say Economics too.
I'm sure the country will be in safe hands when he finishes.
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:15, Reply)
Confucius?

(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:24, Reply)
I'm exactly the same, because while I know it should, it simply holds no interest for me whatsoever.

(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:13, Reply)
Ultimately it might as well hold no interest in anyone other than those actually in the job
since armchair posturing aside, your ability to influence anything at all is negligible. But it still winds me up.
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:16, Reply)
Very true.

(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:19, Reply)
the older I get
the more I realise I don't know enough to really discuss it without sounding like a tit.
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:19, Reply)
The problem with discussing politics is that there's always some cunt who knows more about it than you do
Which it would appear FreeFair would have been well-advised to realise.
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:21, Reply)
I thought he was the one who knew more.
Boy is my face red now.

Because I'm wanking.

Yeah
Plumdozer showed me a thing or two as well. Always a good thing.
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:23, Reply)
Knows his shit, does Dozer
Just don't get him started on music
(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:26, Reply)
Why?

(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:29, Reply)
because he's a horrible cunt

(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:30, Reply)
OK then.

(, Wed 15 Jun 2011, 9:30, Reply)
This^
He and I have resolved our differences now, but we had quite the row based purely on a difference of opinion over one band.
