Those hyphens after the number references for your questions shouldn't be there.
I suggest you employ colons* or full stops in this instance.

I think this might be my answer to question one.

Now remove the capital letter from the start of 'algae' and I think we're done.

Certainly...

Maybe a colon instead of an ellipsis too.

I am a ferocious pedant, as were my parents before me.
My daughter (3 in a month's time) has no fucking chance.

She has started correcting the diction of her mother's friend. It's 'beeT rooT', apparently.

Good girl.

I'll be in London some time after the 28th on a weekday evening.

*This is pretty vague and might not happen but I'm hungry at the moment so I want it to.

My sister's little boy
says "Me" instead of "I" when talking, he's 2. I started correcting him, natch. My sister asked me not to but it drives me up the wall. He sounds like an idiot.

You have to correct them. That's how they learn.
I can still hear my mother's voice saying 'different FROM, dear' to this day.
(, Fri 17 Jun 2011, 9:56, Reply)
Agreed.
My Mum used to do it to me but she doesn't do it to him.

I suspect she likes her grandson more than her son.
