I have the TV on constantly but I rarely actually watch it.

When I was a boy the Radio Times was purchased, and if you wanted to watch something you indicated so with your initials. At the allotted time, the television was switched on, and switched off again at the end until the next 'screening'. The screen itself being about 6 inches across. It was like trying to watch Monkey on a digital fucking watch.

I usually have the sound down too.
We always had the TV on as a kid, hence my need to have it on now. Even when I'm listening to music I still have it on.
