or that they are forced into doing it. I just think the popularity of the respective sports (football and cheerleading) amongst specific genders is a somewhat suspect tradition and a bit weird.
Of course I only really know anything about these things because my friend went through a phase of only watching cheerleader films

and so while they're there the camp has movie night, and they're watching Bring it On
and all of the cheerleaders are reciting the lines, completely into the movie, it's hilarious

So that would rule out 'females cheerleading at male sporting events and boy cheerleaders performing at female sporting events'.
They do their thing wherever. It looks like a sport in itself really, like extreme gymnastics. I've made myself lol now!
