Not really.
It sounds worse than it actually was. I was smacked when I did something wrong, but it wasn't like it was just random violence or something.

And all physical punishment stopped after the age of about ten.

my mum was still flinging me about like a desperate mong when I was 16.
I stood up to her at 17.
It wasn't abuse. She just was strict and had a temper. it made me very well behaved so I am glad.
