doesn't it sorta create a buffer?
the stomach acid is essentially HCL, and then fizzy pop's basically CO2, and that creates HCO2? and Cl? I dunno. That's just what I vaguely remember from last semester.

No idea, I don't have any first hand knowledge
but presumably if your body can handle having stomach acid in it, then a bit of pop's not going to do any harm.
