it made everyone who owned a council house suddenly a slave to interest rates, which were controlled by the government, which meant going on strike became a much more difficult option, which meant the government could do whatever the fuck it wanted to the workforce.

that everyone is stupid at 16 when it comes to politics. The secret is not assuming you know it all, but taking the time to research your stuff and listen to others. Reading one or two textbooks and liking the sound of a manifesto is not the same as making an informed decision, not one that is formed solely by your prejudices.
