Farnham's freehold.Stranger is good, it made me cry at the end. Damn it this threat is making me want to re-read too much stuff. I don't know how much I'd recommend his stuff, I read and loved it as a teenager, so my judgement is skewed.

I liked strangerbut I think it was while I'd been reading lots of Octavia Butler/JOanna Russ type stuff and I got annoyed that all the female characters were 1 dimensional
