I'm looking forward to having vacation time. Won't do anything with it but I'm still happy about it

my flatmate has called twice in the last couple of weeks to ask if i've been home and left it on. she thinks we have a serial killer hiding in the flat.
i suspect the porters might be sniffing our pants or the cleaner might be chilling out in a kensington crib...

My problem is that I have too many ideas for too few days. Next trip around Asturias and Castilla should be very nice. We're even staying in a Parador in Segovia, as they were in offer. www.parador.es/en/tratarFichaParadorCabecera.do?parador=072
Then, in September, we should spend a week in a narrow boat around Wales. That should be really good.

but you need more people to go with you.
Go to Granada, that's cheap. I can tell you a cheap, central and very good hostel to stay; and food comes free with your drinks, so you end up spending very little money.

not been to granada but i understand that is also gorgeous, just in a totally different city kind of a way. my parents loved it. this is what confused me... i am talking about white sand, caribbean sea, palm trees. clearly this is NOT a city in soain!

Granada is full of beautiful buildings, mountains and nice food. I wouldn't spend a whole week there on holidays; but I'd love to live there.

If half a pint of lager plus a nice size tapa for 1€ is not cheap, then I don't know what's cheap.

living in America makes it more expensive.
Why don't you try South America? Perú and Bolivia are really cheap too. You'll need a passport, though; but you can have a 3 course menu for around 1$

My time off is in about a month from now. It's absolutely impossible to afford that.

But if one day you want to come to England you can stay with me and save on the hotel. And I don't mind the dog either.

I appreciate the thought, but it bums me out to think of all the fabulous things I cannot do.

and knowing her, she won't want to be the centre of attention, so everything will be good.
