i regret being nice and doing things for people when i know they wont do the same
Such as watching my friends dog, or feeding my roommates cats

I'm looking forward to having vacation time. Won't do anything with it but I'm still happy about it

That tv won't watch itself

(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 12:45, Reply)
daytime tv is shit
I think I'll do that whole explore dc thing
(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 12:50, Reply)
mine does
my flatmate has called twice in the last couple of weeks to ask if i've been home and left it on. she thinks we have a serial killer hiding in the flat.

i suspect the porters might be sniffing our pants or the cleaner might be chilling out in a kensington crib...

Vacation time is always good
My problem is that I have too many ideas for too few days. Next trip around Asturias and Castilla should be very nice. We're even staying in a Parador in Segovia, as they were in offer. www.parador.es/en/tratarFichaParadorCabecera.do?parador=072

Then, in September, we should spend a week in a narrow boat around Wales. That should be really good.

Thank you for telling me about all the wonderful things you'll be doing that I can't afford to do :)

I'm renting a villa in Tuscany, fyi.

(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 12:51, Reply)
and by villa he means holiday Inn, and substitute Croydon for Tuscany
and we're nearly there
(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 12:53, Reply)
Travelodge near Terminal 2, Heathrow, ACTUALLY
Fuck you, Rory.
(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 12:57, Reply)
Narrow boat is not expensive
but you need more people to go with you.

Go to Granada, that's cheap. I can tell you a cheap, central and very good hostel to stay; and food comes free with your drinks, so you end up spending very little money.

when i went to grenada last year
about 9/10 people i raved to about it thought i meant granada.
(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 13:04, Reply)
They sound quite similar
but it's a completely different style of holiday... Never been in Grenada, I wouldn't mind a week there.
(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 13:08, Reply)
it is beeeeeautiful
not been to granada but i understand that is also gorgeous, just in a totally different city kind of a way. my parents loved it. this is what confused me... i am talking about white sand, caribbean sea, palm trees. clearly this is NOT a city in soain!
(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 13:16, Reply)
Clearly not!
Granada is full of beautiful buildings, mountains and nice food. I wouldn't spend a whole week there on holidays; but I'd love to live there.
(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 13:18, Reply)
nothing is cheap my dear

(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 13:09, Reply)
Well
If half a pint of lager plus a nice size tapa for 1€ is not cheap, then I don't know what's cheap.
(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 13:14, Reply)
Okay, how about this, I live in america and don't even have my passport yet but even if I did it would be expensive to fly there, have a hotel or whatever, spending cash and paying someone to take care of my dog

(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 13:26, Reply)
Yeah, well
living in America makes it more expensive.

Why don't you try South America? Perú and Bolivia are really cheap too. You'll need a passport, though; but you can have a 3 course menu for around 1$
(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 13:27, Reply)
Please stop suggesting things I cannot do.
My time off is in about a month from now. It's absolutely impossible to afford that.
(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 13:31, Reply)
this seems rude but it's totally not meant to be

(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 13:33, Reply)
You're making it so hard
But if one day you want to come to England you can stay with me and save on the hotel. And I don't mind the dog either.
(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 13:30, Reply)
I'm not making it hard, I'm being realistic.
I appreciate the thought, but it bums me out to think of all the fabulous things I cannot do.
(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 13:32, Reply)
Ok, I'll stop
I'm just trying to be positive, but it's not working... sorry.
(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 13:37, Reply)
I understand, but if I could afford those things I would have said "I have vacation time and I just can't figure out where to go!"
And then your suggestions would've been wonderfully appreciated.
(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 13:38, Reply)
OK
I'll keep them for when you can afford them.
(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 13:41, Reply)
Or, right, you could totally take a photo of me with you when you go on vacation so it's like I'm actually there

And then when you say something funny you can hold this one up so it's like I'm saying "Oh Aberracion, you so crazy"

Lovely dress
A bit too much, maybe, but I'm sure the bride won't mind.
(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 14:00, Reply)
She'd probably thank me for classing up the joint.

(, Tue 26 Jul 2011, 14:01, Reply)
Probably
and knowing her, she won't want to be the centre of attention, so everything will be good.
