People have influences. It's not always a direct impersonation.Your're picking the Blur stuff I like the least anyway so I'm not arsed. I could ask you what you thought of a particular song they did which depicted middle-class life, was before their 'lo-fi' thing, didn't impersonate Holy bleeding Spiritualized or Pavement and you'd still go "YES IT'S PRETENDING TO BE WORKING CLASS AND IT'S AN AFFRONT, YES AN AFFRONT, TO STEVEN MALKMUS. GENRE TOURISM AT ITS WORST".
I hate Damon Albarn but I think you're tarring all of their music with the same well-researsed brush that you appear to have drilled into your brain. Which is fine. If James Blunt releasd something amazing tomorrow, I would still call him a cunt and say it was shit. I guess we all do that.
