any reason?
I'm trying to decide if it bothers me that I'm at work on my birthday, my mrs won't be home till half 6, and while she is cooking me a really nice dinner, it won't be ready until almost too late to actually do anything afterwards.

don't let it bother you
I didn't work on my birthday the last couple of years because of half term and was bored out of my skull to a point where I felt sorry for myself. At least if you are in work people buy you cake and make a fuss of you

you have to buy cake on your own birthday. I've told the one person who is left here who I'm friends with. I've not bothered mentioning it to anyone else.

Yeah, your birthday is not so important by the time you hit 30
My advice is to relax with a nice beer and a reefer until the Mrs gets home. Although, I suspect you don't need me to suggest that...
