You're all quite right Average is 100
What I should have said is 90 is normal and an IQ of 90 doesn't necessarily make you a massive thicko.

it fucking does.
Frankly anything below about 120 makes you barely worth talking to.

Really?
I work with a guy who quite obviously has a low IQ, he would have to read the instructions to know how to take the lid of a jam jar but he has a good memory so has learned and remembered a lot of stuff and is bloody good at his job, he has also led an interesting life so has a lot of interesting things to talk about. The fact that his ability to work things out for him self is low doesn't make him thick

Similarly
there are incredibly intelligent people out there with no idea of how to function socially or with any shred of common sense whatsoever. A friend of mine's daughter is one of these people. And I'm not talking about autists and Aspies, here.

My aunt got 155 in a MENSA test
and she believes in God

I'd still rather talk to a socially incompetent clever person
than a socially adept Daily Mail reader.
(, Tue 30 Aug 2011, 16:45, Reply)
yes it does, this is what thick means
whether you are OK with it or not is another matter.

There's a massive difference between Knowledge, Experience and Intelligence
You can be extremely knowledgeable about a subject with a low IQ.
