Gosh.
I know a few people with troubled insides (not Crohns, though) and they have to be *so* careful about what they eat. Simply cooked meat, no dressings or sauces on their veg etc, nothing spicy.

One of them couldn't even eat shepherd's pie.

Fussy eaters
making excuses.

^ this, many times
everyone I know who has Crohn's has to manage their diet in order to alleviate their symptoms...I'm sure you wouldn't have nearly so many problems if you did the same. But then equally, you'd probably be really bored by what you ate...

Nah, the poor lad has problems enough
without denying himself the good food he loves. Might as well be hanged for a sheep as a lamb.

I still manage it, for example, the hottest thing I'd ever eat is a tandoori paste...
... and if you look at the quantities of what I actually eat, I throw away at least 1/3 of whats on my plate, because I can't stomach a lot of food. When I eat at home, it takes me hours to finish a meal. Little and often is generally how I do it.

The sort of thing that is bad for me is hard to digest stuff, like raw vegtables and also heaverly fried stuff.
I still eat them, but I work out whats happening the next day and judge it on that in the same way people do a hangover. Imagine if every day you're going to wake up with a headache no matter what happens, and if you drink the night before, you'll have a worst headache, but still one nether the less. Now imagine that's for the rest of your life, do you never touch a drop again?

Probably not.
I had to give up Diet Coke (and I love it to rswipe proportions) because there's something in it I'm allergic to.

In fairness, I do exactly the same
I don't tolerate wheat or milk products very well, but I still eat them. Just less of them than I used to. Because let's face it, a life without cheese and bread is FUCKING DULL.

Yeah, I guess it's something everyone has to decide for themselves.
My diet is sooooo bad for me, and I know it's exactly why my health is so bad, why I'm always tired, why I'm overweight, and why I have no energy. If I were sensible, I'd eat nothing but healthy, sensible food all the time. But, dammit, you're right. Life without yummy things is seriously boring.
