Oh man, I'm proper angry now.
When I left the cab office, they promised me that everyone would be getting minimum wage. I've just been told by one of the girls who I'm friendly with that "Everyone's getting £6 an hour except for me because i'm under 21, so i get £5/hour".

I told her to go to the athorities, that they're scum, and she said "But if the company gets into trouble the drivers would be out of work and it'll be all my fault and [boss] would get into trouble".

They've never paid a single sick or holiday day to anyone who isn't in the family of the bosses.

Rarely do I get angry, but they're fucking scum and I hope they all end up in nick.

Why do you still talk to these people, Gonz?

(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 17:04, Reply)
No, I'm talking to a collegue from when I used to work there, she was alright, she said she's moving to china and we got talking about the cab office.
I got a call the other week saying they want their website changed, well, they'll have to clear the account first, it's now at £800.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 17:06, Reply)
Ah, I see. They owe you money.
Yeah, I too would refuse to do any work for them until they'd paid me for the last lot and then, seeing as they'd broken trust over payment the last time, I'd still refuse to do anymore work for them.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 17:12, Reply)
Suppose so.
ALT- OK.
Right, now, what I came in here for.
I have a question.
Would getting all A's and above at AS and A2 level get me into a good (i.e top 20) UK Uni? (assuming my choices are good)
And also, Will not having had an A* in a GCSE result of one of the the subjects affect my chances of getting in to uni? (I have 3 A*s and all other subjects A apart from RE)
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 17:00, Reply)
General rule of thumb from when I went to university 13 years ago.
Once you have A Levels, nobody cares about your GCSEs. Once you have a degree, nobody cares about your A-Levels.

Also, when I went, it was all points-based, meaning it didn't really matter what grades you got in what subjects, just that you got enough points to be accepted by that university.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 17:03, Reply)
Getting all A's will get you into a top 20 university
in all probability though it will also depend on your subject choice. GCSEs won't matter at all.

not a big fan of autobiographies
read one by a photographer (erwin Blumenfeld) that was pretty good, but usually real life is pretty dull

alt: autographs are just to cover your embarrassment when you find you have nothing to say to someone famous
