Meh
Not bad thanks, cheers for asking. Thought that I had stepped back in time this morning on the train, though. It was some freaky antique thing that rattled its way to the capital ten minutes slower than a real train. Now I am full of wine and on the way home three hours later an usual. But still, wine!

Did it have steam?

It might as well have.
I was surprised that the doors were electric. Or maybe they were not.

Still, marginally more comfortable than the one I am on a the moment where the train's heating is operating at "you are in antarctica" mode.

So, the Evening Standard was spectacularly awful this evening, eh?

shockingly
some of us on here don't live in the smog hole called London. Also, I'm too disorganised to read newspapers

Chuff-chuff-chuff-woooowooooo-chuff-chuff-chuff
Didn't notice any smog today but I wasn't entirely sober, so that probably explains it. Now, if I can just survive the bus portion of this journey, life will be splendid.

Well, if you will get on at platform 9 and three-quarters.....

wine =win
what kind?
(, Thu 15 Sep 2011, 20:48, Reply)
Nero d'avola to start with..
... then a staggeringly shite J.P.Cheney mini-bottle to top me off on the journey home. So at least I followed correct procedure: I start with the acceptable stuff and then moved down. Next week, I really must remember to make the time to stop off at Waitrose to get my journey home mini-bottles.

have you considered a hip flask?

(, Thu 15 Sep 2011, 21:06, Reply)
Or any other sort of flask. It doesn't have to be a trendy one like willenium suggests.

(, Thu 15 Sep 2011, 21:07, Reply)
Excellent points
I do have a hip flask, but nothing delicious to put in it; however, I have been meaning to order some decent whisky for some time so thanks for the reminder! Next week's journeys will be enhanced and it will be you two that I have to thank for this.

I have an Cnoc in my hipflask at the moment.
My favourite whiskies are Auchentoshan and Glenfarclas.
(, Thu 15 Sep 2011, 21:11, Reply)
I am embarrassed to admit I had to ask uncle google about those
I tend to get mine from the SMWS so I only know of distilleries by cryptic codes like 85:1234. I really ought to research what I drink beyond the numbers.

And may I just add, it is bloody hard to type on a bus. This is worse than the train, moan, moan, etc,
(, Thu 15 Sep 2011, 21:15, Reply)
An Cnoc is great.
Auchentoshan is wonderful.

I prefer sweeter whiskies rather than peaty ones. Having said that, Laphroaig is alright.
