How did the half marathon go?

My mate came 656th in the GNR at the weekend
1:29:00

I was most impressed

Bloody hell
My best time over 9 miles is 1:15 and I was chuffed as hell with that. The prospect of managing a further 4 miles in 14 minutes is terrifying

I know!
He is the absolute double of Steve Cram too.

It went well thanks
2:26:01 which I was pleased with. Sadly my international jet set lifestyle next year is going to interfere with my half marathon plans as I'll be in Australia during the brighton and bath runs.

Excuse me while my heart doesn't bleed for you
Congratulations on finishing in a decent time, you should be chuffed.

I'm slightly scared about the Marathon Ballot.
I'm scared that if I get a place, I'll feel obliged to run.

Same here
At least you've got 13 miles under your belt, my PB is 9 and it's only 7 months away. Ms Foxtrot is absolutely bricking herself that she'll get in and I won't

If she gets in, I'll be sure to take care of her.
If you know what I mean.
(, Tue 20 Sep 2011, 16:32, Reply)
I don't
Please elaborate

I'll run along with her, making sure she keeps a steady pace
if she wants to talk to take her mind of it I'll make light conversation, if she is feeling rough and just wants to grit her teeth and run in silence, I'll be quiet. If she starts thinking she needs to stop for a rest I'll encourage her to keep walking and then start jogging again as soon as possible, I'll keep any eye out for the drinks stations and let her know she's doing really well.

And when she crosses the finish line I'll high five her.

And when she's walking toward the bit where you get your goody bag I'll finger her quickly from behind.
