Here we go.I don't understand maths, I've never really been taught it beyond GCSE level, in this conversation your opinion carries much more weight.
Why doesn't this apply to art? Where does the idea that once an artist makes a piece of work the public somehow own it, I don't make art for other people, I make it for me and people that might be interested in it.
I suspect mathematicians couldn't give a fig what bloke in the street thinks about their work.

That's not the caseIt's only when art is displayed in a public that it invites comment. When the comments are positive its fine, when they are negative they are unqualified to comment.
