just to shunt it along to the amp. The way things are wired up though, I've run out of TOSLINK ports. You don't get sky boxes or ps3s with coaxial ports, so I need the soundcard to have one.

Maybe you could just get yourself a bit of bell wire, and solder an eigth jack from your headphone socket into the aux point of your amp?

But the sound card's an old XFi one. It's out of support so I'll have to replace it eventually anyway

I'll probably have to replace it all before too much longer, it's an old socket type etc. If I were to do that, I'd just replace the motherboard and CPU and make sure I got a mobo with a coax out on it.
That's partly what's been staying my hand.
