that you were surprised people associated Hakuna Matata with the Lion King, but I've honestly never heard of it outside of that. Where's it from?

When I was a child, I went on holiday to Kenya quite a bit, and my Dad used to say when I was worried or stressed or anything like that, even in the height of depression and anxiety issues "Hakuna..... Hakuna....." unti eventually I would say "Matata", which was a way of placating me and showing that whatever the bad thing was, that it's over and no need to worry about it anymore. This was before Lion King was out.
It's swahili for "No problem".
