I'm jealous
I have no idea where to buy game here, and there is zero point just buying it for me to eat

I thought you shot your own?
/confused vegetarian
(, Fri 21 Oct 2011, 13:19, Reply)
I've only ever shot one bird
and that wasn't edible.

Where do you live? Pheasant, pigeon and partridge are all suited to small portion cooking. You must be able to find some somewhere.

Currently in Bristol
don't know the city very well, spotted a rather nice little butchers that did game, but can't remember the location for love or money (was in the car at the time)
(, Fri 21 Oct 2011, 13:21, Reply)
It was down that road by that shop with the thing in the window.
You know the one.
(, Fri 21 Oct 2011, 13:24, Reply)
Possibly Bakers of Nailsea.
Yes I know it's a butchers don't get confused because they are called Bakers.
(, Fri 21 Oct 2011, 13:24, Reply)
Quick google
looks lovely but is in Nailsea. Thanks though, now I know it's there I'll pop in if we pass
(, Fri 21 Oct 2011, 13:33, Reply)
Is it any good?
I thought it looked a bit shit, just like a generic crime thriller, so I didn't buy it.
(, Fri 21 Oct 2011, 13:01, Reply)
Not as good as his previous stuff
It is much more of a generic crime thriller. Not a bad crime thriller if you like that genre though.

I thought Pandaemonium was excellent.

(, Fri 21 Oct 2011, 13:04, Reply)
That wasn't my favourite of his but I enjoyed it.
Quite Ugly One Morning is his best I think.
(, Fri 21 Oct 2011, 13:07, Reply)
Then you think wrong.
The Sacred Art of Stealing is clearly much better. That or Boiling a Frog.
(, Fri 21 Oct 2011, 13:10, Reply)
First one I read was One Fine Day...
I was hooked from there. Quite Ugly is a belter, pity they fucked up the TV version by casting James Fucking Nesbit as Parlabane and having him cop off with the copper who was a lesbian in the book.
(, Fri 21 Oct 2011, 13:10, Reply)
I haven't seen any TV versions. Sounds like I shouldn't bother.

(, Fri 21 Oct 2011, 13:11, Reply)
It's the only one they did.
It was quite faithful apart from changing the love interest angle, but the casting of a hard nosed SCOTTISH journalist was a fucking disaster.
(, Fri 21 Oct 2011, 13:14, Reply)
I don't like that genre.
So there.
(, Fri 21 Oct 2011, 13:07, Reply)
Knowing that has made my day complete.

(, Fri 21 Oct 2011, 13:09, Reply)
Is that out in paperback yet?
All I've seen are hardback copies.
(, Fri 21 Oct 2011, 13:01, Reply)
I have the Kindle edition so I don't know.

(, Fri 21 Oct 2011, 13:03, Reply)
Ah. I shall have a look on Amazon.
