AhBut if you do it in February in a thunderstorm, they stay indoors.
As for dickheads after dark, over the course of a month in Wester Hailes (Edinburgh suburb) I had a firework launched at me and nearly got thrown into the union canal three times.
I stopped cycling after dark...

Our February thunderstorms are fairly impressive. That's a fairly sensible thing to do, not cycling after dark when dickheads are about!
