With grandparents living over 100 miles away we have chosen to always stay at home for Christmas
Everyone knows where we live and if they want to come it is fine

I've driven to Featherstone a few times on Christmas morning.
We now just go on Boxing Day instead

In the last couple of years before I left home my parents used to go away and leave me and my sister at home
Man, were we popular with all our friends on Christmas day?
At precisely the point in the day when everyone had had enough of their families, one by one they would come strolling in.
