There's not a lot of point in going around declaring something popular as shit, even if it seems patently obvious that it is, because clearly a large amount of people disagree.

Oh I don't think the majority are always right, quite the reverse in fact.
But even leaving processed pap out of the discussion you either enjoy a song/artist or you don't, it's not something you arrive at based on evidence or rational argument, it's an emotional reaction, arguing about who'd right is a big game of my dad's bigger than your dad.
