Actually, the Scottish educational system is, and always has been, better than the English one.
More successful and a broader curriculum.

And this is 100% not jingoistic, patriotic claptrap. That sort of shit winds me up as much as men that wear ties with short sleeved shirts.

thought you meant you only got standard grades to start with because you were in Scatlind, but the good ones came when you moved south.

So was it actually and eng. lit. degree, I gots half of one of those.

I did Standard Grades and then moved down here and did A Levels.
The boarding house at my school had closed so I had to move school.

And yeah, an English degree. You can tell, because I used the words 'jingoistic' and 'claptrap'.
