Even Arsenal can't bollocks it up, although they've given it a good go.

They've elevated themselves above the brickbats they've taken and are playing superb football, without having spunked stupid amounts of money on any one player. Shame that won't be enough; CL football next year is the best they can hope for.

making it into the CL next year will be good enough for me.

Arsenal have stood still for 5 years whilst all around them, most notably spurs, have progressed? Yes, Redknapps has flung money at it like Gareth Bale flinging shit at a wall, waiting for some to stick, but it's arguably just as bad that Arsenal have the money and haven't bothered. It's all very well Wenger waiting and hoping for the financial climate in football to collapse just so he can go "aha! I was right" but he still won't have fucking won anything for years and strangely, that, rather than some kind of moral high ground, is that mark of success in football.

Chelsea and City are both one dissatisfied owner away from doing a Leeds. It is a shame that good football and moral rectitude are being ignored due to a lack of silverware but you're right that he should have done more in the transfer market.
