So it would seem.
You is well popular girl.

Innit.
So a good day's shopping then?

I had an afternoon nap. It was awesome.
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 20:34, Reply)
Well, I managed to pick up lots of little personal bits so that's all good.
I still have the bulk of the buying to do, mostly for my sone, but that takes less thought, just money, so I'm quite happy,

I also totally bought a shooting stick, which is something I've been wanting for a while. The was no sensible way to carry it except to use it as a walking stick, so I did, which for some reason induced me to walk with a limp. This was ace in crowds and on the tube home, people actually treated my like a human being. I think I might take to walking with the stick/limp combo more often,

Oh man! I totally got you a shooting stick for Christmas.
You've ruined it now : (
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 20:42, Reply)
Seriously?
Oh bugger, I did worry that might happen, but I didn't think I'd told anyone but my mum I wanted one.

On the bright side, now you have a shooting stick, we can be shooting stick buddies.
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 20:44, Reply)
Yay!
*practises limp*
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 20:45, Reply)
You didn't actually get one did you?

(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 20:50, Reply)

Nope.
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 20:53, Reply)

I thought not, but you had me going. :)
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 20:55, Reply)

I like getting you going.
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 20:56, Reply)

it's embarisingly easy to do
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 20:56, Reply)

Thanks for that.
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 20:58, Reply)

I didn't mean like that, wash your mind out with soap and water. :)
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:02, Reply)

Hehe.
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:03, Reply)
I should totally team my new limp with my Gestapo trench coat
it would look awesome. Maybe a good look for edinberg in the new year.
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 20:56, Reply)
Fucking Christmas seems like an impossibility this year, I have absolutely no idea how I'm going to get stuff for people who deserve it, except for a big clothes shopping voucher for kiddo.
I might get on the massive onion & chilli chutney wagon and have a huge cook-off, make pickles and stuff *goes jar shopping*
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:02, Reply)
Sounds like a plan.
If any friend is worth their salt then it's all about the thought and not the price.
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:04, Reply)
I just know my brother won't dig it, but whatever, he's pretty fucking rich anyway and can afford to buy me a ukulele.

(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:17, Reply)
You play the uke?
Snap ;)
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:27, Reply)
Oh for fuck's sake...

(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:31, Reply)
Yeah, spooky!

(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:35, Reply)
Can you play?
I have one but got hacked off with the lessons and haven't picked it up since. silly brain.
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:27, Reply)
Chordie.com is your friend.
Served me better than lessons.
Mind you, I started a uke group (the Ukudoodlers lol) which helped ;) every second Sunday afternoon, uke and cake and tea! Actually had the secretary of the George Formby Society in the group for a while ;)
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:34, Reply)
I had a psychological block about playing in time with other people.
It put me off so much I've not played since I gave up the classs. as I say, silly brain.
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:50, Reply)
I play guitar.
In fact, I blew some people's minds the other day when I played a right-handed guitar left-handed, proper fucking "Whoa!" I assume a ukulele is a graduation of my guitar ability, so I'm looking forward to learning.
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:35, Reply)
I'm right-handed but I play left-handed btw.
So I've had a little practice reversing bar-chord shapes and scales on right-handed guitars upside-down.
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:36, Reply)
Sounds like you could manage it fine!

(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:41, Reply)
Yeah, s'what I reckon.
I try not to be modest but when people go "Fucking hell, how do you do that?" I can't help but be a touch smug.
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:44, Reply)
Fucking good on ya ;)
Modesty can be a bit of a waste of time.
I'm not that hot on the uke, but I fair enjoy it and folk seem to get some joy from it!
I take it with me on wednesdays sometimes, when I'm doing my driving for Age UK. Have a singalong with the old goats. They fucking love it! Even when I drop in a bit of Dylan or Zep ;)
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:50, Reply)
The uke's a doddle of a shift from 6 strings, if you can get your head round the chord shapes being different.
My mate Craig is a stunning guitarist but a week after I lent him my uke he told me that when he went back to his guitar he got all confused. I told him he was being a mong and thinking too much about it and since then he's been ok with it!
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:40, Reply)
Yeah, I can see it just being another set of complimentary chords to learn.
I played with an upside-down banjo a few months back and got the whole deal in about fifteen minutes, so I reckon I can progress to a right-way-up uke in a similar amount of time. Plus, with tab, internet, video etc I can usually pick up a playing style in a few minutes so I'm really looking forward to it. Also, I have kinda fallen for this youtube chick:

I don't like her nose.
You can do better.
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:47, Reply)
Exactly, my nose is pretty and perfect.

(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:49, Reply)
I want to see you playing like this guy by the next time I see you.

Bloody Japanese and their bloody nimble fingers.

(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:54, Reply)
It's an amazing bit of playing.
There's a lot of good uke stuff out there. maybe I'll have to pick mine up aagain aand just concentrait on enjoying myself and not worry about others.
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:57, Reply)
Isn't that what playing an instrument is all about?

(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 21:58, Reply)
Yes.
But I suck at just sitting and practising by my self. the classes made me get out and do stuff and I did learn a fair bit, but I just could not play along with others with out freezing up and I hated it.
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 22:02, Reply)
How long ago was this?
Maybe you're different now in a class situation. You're older and more confidant.
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 22:04, Reply)
only about a year back.
It wasn't confidence it was not playing well with others. it's OK, I have the basics I just need to kick my own arse to do it on my own. I'll try to reach this standard: www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4V1WQ6Nisg&feature=related

night night.
(, Sat 26 Nov 2011, 22:06, Reply)
I'm off soon too.
Goodnight.
