WOO HOO!
Our mate has just announced he has a gig next Saturday, so we'll drag you along to that.

I saw that, I'm gonna sound fucking southern in amongst lots of drunken northerners.

I believe the missus has already divulged what I'll be cooking on Friday night.
I must remember to get the fish out of the freezer the night before!

I'm rather fucking excited about the whole deal if I'm honest, I can't wait to get on that train.

I just hope the weather holds on Saturday for the walk.
You don't want to be stuck on the top of Simonside crag in pelting rain or a howling gale.
(, Sun 27 Nov 2011, 20:12, Reply)
Sounds like fun to me!
It's starting to look a bit shit on the long-term forecasts but I'll believe it when I see it. Plus I have all manner of warm and waterproof gear and solid boots so it'll all be cool.
(, Sun 27 Nov 2011, 20:14, Reply)
There is that
but shit weather negates the view, which is fucking spectacular.
(, Sun 27 Nov 2011, 20:15, Reply)
I can handle cold and wind but not rain : (

I dislike walking in the rain.
I had to do a 3 day 'survival' course in the Lakes when I worked for Defra. 3 days of hiking up and down hills in the Coniston area. In January. Where it pissed down. For the whole 3 days. And I MEAN pissed down. Despite the waterproof clothing I was still fucking soaked.

Also, I got the corner of a laminated map in my eye 'cos of the howling gales that were blowing.
Went down like a sack of spuds, said eye subsequently ulcerated. Really uncomfortable experience.

We won't put you through that hell again DG.

(, Sun 27 Nov 2011, 20:27, Reply)
No, don't be poking maps in people's eyes
It isn't nice.
(, Sun 27 Nov 2011, 20:29, Reply)
It really fucking hurt.
It happened towards the end of the last day, and I was supposed to be driving everyone back. Someone else had to as my eye wouldn't stop watering for hours and I couldn't see properly.
(, Sun 27 Nov 2011, 20:46, Reply)
I got a bit of rust in one of my eyes
Served me right for not wearing goggles whilst angle-grinding but I had to wear a patch for a week.

And it knacked.
