Already got the application in for the first.
Need to ring the employer for the second tomorrow to clarify a point with them.

A bit of verbal communication is good.
It means they'll be expecting your application.

Indeed.
The rest of the stuff's done but I need to confirm what they want on the covering letter as it's a bit vague.

Also those lovely Jobcentre people have told me I have to do voluntary work to get my JSA. If I have to do it it's not then voluntary, surely?

'voluntary' is a euphemism for 'unpaid'.

Well, yeah.
I might ask my old boss if I can do some project appraisal work for him as I gather the team is a bit snowed under at the moment. At least I can do that at home, and I enjoy it.

Tell them it'll take you away from applying for jobs.

I did mention that at the interview...
Ooh, curry's arrived!

It's a bit late to getting a new telly delivered.

It's not actually a bad thing to have on a CV
It means you've been doing something constructive rather than watching Jeremy Kyle and eating Haribo worms.

I'd rather spend my time looking for work though.
It's annoying that they expect you do do it straight away, rather than, say, after six months.

It's fucking indentured labour
Why the fuck are companies going to create jobs when the jobcentre will send them free workers?
(, Sun 27 Nov 2011, 22:39, Reply)
It also means they don't have to pay you JSA at all, because you're in work. Even though it's unpaid.
