so yeah, I heard that some people on /talk like to shit in carrier bags because their bottoms don't work properly
I own a parrot, you jelly?
(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 20:12, 25 replies, latest was 14 years ago)
Just one Parrot?
You know that Parrots have far better developed social instincts than humans?

You're leaving alone?

Parrot don't like that, boy.
(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 20:25, Reply)
I'll be working from home for a few months
and I might buy another one after christmas

srsly, I know all about parrots and shizzle
(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 20:33, Reply)
Always get two
They'll love you more for it.
(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 20:50, Reply)
well this one's very timid
so I'm spending hours every day getting him used to coming to me for treats, I was thinking of getting one that's at least hand tamed to encourage him
(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 20:54, Reply)
A Lovebird?
They get on well, and there's plenty out there.
(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 20:57, Reply)
well this one's a blue-crowned conure
so another conure would be ideal if possibly a bit noisy

I might see if there's a sale on

or BOGOF
(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 21:03, Reply)
Very noisy
I'd be looking at rescues if I was you.

Maybe a Minah, or a Cockatiel.

They'll do a bit of pecking order at first but they'll get on.

I have two Minahs.
(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 21:27, Reply)
Just as I was reading that he's launched into a mad squawking fit
Minahs are fantastic, I remember a friend of the family had one that spoke so convincingly you'd swear it was its owner's voice if you were wearing a blindfold.

A rescue bird would be ideal. Not sure how well conures get on with other species but most parrots seem friendly enough together. I shall research this

Yeah', you're totally not being a sad pathetic little man here, following me around on the internet 'cus you have fuck all else to do in your life.
Can you please fuck off now you've gotten your reaction you wanted?
(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 20:35, Reply)
woah
that was unnecessary
(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 20:38, Reply)
Isn't that what you wanted by following me around b3ta banging on about a medical condition that plauges my life? Wasn't I supposed to get upset that you're constantly following me around and going on about a medical condition....
...that means I have to see a doctor every week and spend the rest of my life on morphine and methadone? But i'll tell you what, I'd rather have what I got than be you, any day of the week.

There, reaction, you've got it, now would you fuck off you dull needy friendless prick.
(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 20:57, Reply)
srsly, there's an ignore link next to all my posts
I don't understand why you won't click it
(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 21:04, Reply)
Yes you do, because if I stick you on ignore it doesn't stop you referencing me, and with your constant needy attention seeking asking for new posts means I might as well not go on /talk at all.
You know full well why the ignore button doesn't work, Even when I don't reply to you for hours you still do post after new post banging on about it.

Isn't this what you wanted to see? Isn't this the end result you wanted? To get me annoyed? Why do you seem supprised?

TL:DR - Fuck off.
(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 21:09, Reply)
I dunno, isn't that what happens on /talk, people take the piss constantly, nothing's sacred?
I got a lot of stick for saying I was in hospital for depression, loads of people laid into me for that and still do occasionally.

If I don't want /talk to rip the piss out of something then I don't post it there because people treat it as fair game. Bou was absolutely harangued for saying she had temporal lobe epilepsy, I get stick about my trip to the loony bin.
(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 21:15, Reply)
and baldmonkey got stick for being a bit wobbly when he forgot his meds, to the point where he's now left the board
and if anyone admits to being depressed or suicidal the usual /talk response is a near-unanimous "we don't care, go kill yourself"
(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 21:17, Reply)
and this week we've all had a good rofl at someone who might have cancer

(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 21:24, Reply)
Ok, seeing as you're being honest, I don't care about the medical thing, it's a well publicised part of my life and nobody should be ashamed of their medical condition.
It was the absolute constant banging on and on about me, that the moment some conversation got going, you'd kill it off with "Bored of that, [random question]" or asking the same thing over and over. I've noticed there are far less actual conversation since you started doing that, people don't bother posting new threads 'cus they'll be stopped straight away, or they refresh to see you consistantly posting some bollocks and just go away. You get away with these spack-attacks 'cus you were funny and witty at some point, if anyone else did it, like Mortal, they'd be hounded off the board, but it's just as dull and teddious.
(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 21:28, Reply)
so the problem isn't me going on about your illness, you just don't like me?
you know you can still chat in a thread after I start one at the top, that's allowed
(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 21:30, Reply)
No, it's the constant threadstomping with no real content, especially when there was conversation going on.
If all those posts about me were possitive things about me, I'd feel exactly the same, that it's dull and tedious.
(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 21:39, Reply)
well yeah but on /talk the threads go off at a tangent very quickly
it very rarely matters what the original post was about, people just wander into discussions about other things. Take the current top thread as an example, no content at all and yet people are having a conversation around it.

www.b3ta.com/talk/7399898

Starting a thread doesn't mean "let's all talk about this", very often it just means exactly what I say, I'm bored of that, change the subject.
(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 21:43, Reply)
also this
www.b3ta.com/talk/7399668

isn't a really great way to start a thread
(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 21:45, Reply)
Yeah', I know what the thread starts with isn't always where the conversation goes...
... and if you're bored of whats being said, then go off and do something else like everyone else does, or threadjack with something you want to talk about, /talk's not there just to entertain you. You post them within minutes a few minutes of a new thread or while conversation is still happening. With that 'you cool?' thread, look at whenever the previous thing from that was said, it was 4 hours ago, nothing else was going on... which is why people do that Alright thread.

You well know this though.
(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 21:52, Reply)
but /talk IS there just to entertain me

(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 21:56, Reply)
Oh man, we were doing so well at understanding each other there for a moment.

(, Sun 4 Dec 2011, 22:11, Reply)
you'll never understand me
