Despite still being not at all well my weekend was excellent.
Friday night/Saturday morning with daughter, went to a German bierkeller and then to a William Morris exhibition in a beautiful building in Temple on Saturday afternoon, followed by some Mexican 'street food' and Ye Drugges. Yesterday I made a nomalicious beef stew which we scoffed with stir-fried savoy cabbage and a swede & potato mash. Drank mulled wine, got an early night.

Tonight I am off for one of this week's two Needoo visits, and I might be getting a new bed too. New to me, anyway...

BUT my throat's still agony, my right ear has joined it and you are all tedious benders so it's not all good news.

It's a virus, I am told, and thus anti-biotics won't work on it, or something.
The doctor was rather dismissive, in truth, but I have never experienced pain like it.

Have you tried gargling with soluble aspirin?
It can help to sooth a sore throat. Alternatively very salty water, tastes rank, makes you gag, but again, it can help kill off infections.

Yeah I've been doing the salt water thing for the past week.
It may have helped but it doesn't seem to have, to be honest.

I watched The Golden Compass last night, and I thought it was quite good. They should have made the other two.

I've smoked about three times in the past 8 or 9 days. It's just too unpleasant to gain any pleasure from at all.

Yeah it was alright as a kids film
but it didn't do nearly well enough at the box office to justify the investment. Shame really, it was marketed too much at adults as well as kids I reckon, when really the books are just childrens stories that some adults happened to like too.
