Gonz, you're a switched on man about the internet
What is this Linkedin I hear tell of?

Does it have any redeeming features?

Yeah', it's really a big deal, especially if you're looking for work or clients.
It's been nicknamed "The facebook of buisness", and I agree with that. I would be careful when giving them your contact/email addresses to find people as they'll send out email to so many people if you're not reading it carefully.... anyone you've ever sent an email to or from.

I'm not very active on it, but I am on it.

Looking for clients primarily
I've an aversion to anything like Facebook but the guys I'm subbing for at the moment have suggested it, as a way of sweetening the news that they've nothing else for me when this contract ends on Friday.

I think prospective employers check it too.

That's what I was hoping
As a man of no fixed income it may prove useful.

It can't hurt.

Can you advertise on it?
I'll have a closer look tomorrow but can you actually put your own website on?
(, Sat 10 Dec 2011, 22:40, Reply)
You can invite people or tell them you've registered or summat.
And can search by different criteria that suits.
(, Sat 10 Dec 2011, 22:43, Reply)
Yeah', I'd go for it. You can also upload your CV and it'll cleverly try and get as much info out of that as you can.

As above
I'm really thinking of it as a way to promote the business, although my CV has been more useful recently.

Can't be bothered tonight but I'll give it a look in the morning.

A CV is only good if the right people can see it.
Yeah', give it a shot when you're heads a bit more straight, worst comes to it you've wasted a few hours, no big deal... but if it pulls off, then you're sorted.
