It's Christmas Time...
- yeah, no shit Bob and Midge.

There's no need to be afraid... - well, discounting the increased number of drink drivers on the road at this time of year who may kill you to death as you leave the pub, no.

At Christmas time, we let in light and we banish shade... - apart from the increased likelihood of power cuts, anyway.

There's a world outside your window, and it's a world of dread and fear... - again, back to the drink drivers, and also the fact we live on a council estate, although we do own our own property thanks to the right to buy scheme. Cheers Maggie.

And the only waters flowing, are the bitter sting of tears... - yeah, my Mum would have been 65 today; that's a fucking pisser I grant you. Thanks a bunch.

And so on. Next bit, here we go.

And there won't be snow in Africa this Christmas time... - well, apart from on the highest peaks, eh?

The greatest gift they'll get this year is life... - or AIDS. Probably AIDS.

Where nothing ever grows... - apart from in the rainy season.

No rain or rivers flow... - again, see above.

Do they know it's Christmas time at all?... - well, many will be familiar with the concept seeing as how Christian missionaries and the catholic church have spread the word, but equally, many African countries are Muslim and so probably won't give a shit.

Feed the world... - Well, by the world Bob and Midge, you mean Africa really, so try not to kid us, eh?

Let them know it's Christmas time... - by giving our hard earned money to corrupt African regimes.

LOLJOKE! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Chin up grumpy tits !
I made a fucking awesome dinner
Starter: Teryakki scallops, prawns and black pudding.... the teryakki bit was last minute when I had already cooked the black pudding. For the record, teryakki black pudding works soooo fucking well.
Main: Butternut squash roasted with garlic, rosmary, chili, honey. Then blitzed in the blitzer with a touch of cream and masciponi.... then into oddly-shapped stuffed pasta.
Desert: skipped.

And my Ma's BFF who I was cooking for took home a doggy-bag (there was loads left over), 'cus she wants to eat something she can really enjoy on christmas and this is better than her daughter's roast.

OH MAN

I saw that.
I'm quite cheery really, it's just that song came on before and I was struck at how banal and badly thought out the words were, despite the good intentions.
