Are Boards of Canada dance music?
What about Fuck Buttons? Push Button Objects? Wild Beasts?

You're the expert, you tell me.

I think the reply you are looking for is "I don't really know any specific tracks or artists"
True may it be, I have heard enough of it in general (on TV and radio, from friends, in public places, on the net) to know that I am not able to like any of the genres I have mentioned even if I wanted to.

So your story is that you don't know what you're talking about?
We've been here before.

FreeFair is getting proper parred off here.

What does 'parred off' mean?
I think he means that he doesn't like shit house and techno, which is fine, neither do I. Eric Prydz and Cascada is shit, whereas Visionquest and Motor City Drum Ensemble are ace. He is much more likely to be aware of the first two, however, he has tarred all 4/4 electronic music with the same brush, which is tantamount to judging Mogwai by the same standard as Shed Seven.

I am self knowingly the reverse of a hipster.
If a significant number of people haven't heard of it, I don't listen.
(, Sun 15 Jan 2012, 22:30, Reply)
What does that mean?
And everybody has heard of everything you eejit.
(, Sun 15 Jan 2012, 22:31, Reply)
A hipster is AFAIK someone who claims to dislike anything commercially popular.

(, Sun 15 Jan 2012, 22:33, Reply)
Yes, I know what a hipster is, thanks.
I meant what does 'If a significant number of people haven't heard of it, I don't listen.' mean? That you only listen if it's commercially popular?

If so, that makes you a twat.

Nice work.

I don't listen to everyone who is popular.
But everyone who I listen to is popular.
The most obscure artist I have in my musical library is Jethro Tull.
(, Sun 15 Jan 2012, 22:37, Reply)
So your story is that you can't be arsed to check out stuff that may be 'off the radar'?
At your age I didn't give a shit who was popular, as long as it was good and had integrity.

Which is what matters in any art.

As any fule kno.
(, Sun 15 Jan 2012, 22:39, Reply)
Not quite.
It's not really a deliberate policy, i have had the misfortune to not like any of the stuff i hear from most non mainstream artists.
Often aesthetically unpleasant.
(, Sun 15 Jan 2012, 22:44, Reply)
So your story is that you have no taste?
Nice work.
(, Sun 15 Jan 2012, 22:48, Reply)
My posts have no overarching story.
They are merely a series of loosely connected comments.
(, Sun 15 Jan 2012, 22:51, Reply)
So your story is that you lack a cohesive narrative?
Nice work.
(, Sun 15 Jan 2012, 22:54, Reply)
I like the Music I like, and I like any music that sounds like it.
Anyting else I do not bother with.
Thats it really.
