I don't see why I should get taxed directly on my wage when I'm fully funded by the tax payer.
I think they should reduce tax codes for all purely public sector workers over time in lieu of cost of living increases.

They could do this
but only if there was some sort of pay cut or pay freeze until say 2015

Then your salary should reflect that you don't pay tax.
So your take home pay remained unchanged.

Pretty much.
There doesn't seem to be a good reason for taxing us at all. The tax is taken at exactly the same time my wage is paid so they're not even getting to use the money overnight or whatever like banks do.

And get paid less, say 20% or maybe 40% depending on your wage

Well get paid the same in real terms is my argument.
Accross the public sector there's cost of living increases over time based on inflation, what's the point? just cut tax levels every time you do one of those.

Until you get to 0% tax...then what?

(, Tue 17 Jan 2012, 17:12, Reply)
Then go back to doing the cost of living increases
with a few million people not having to go through the system every month which I assume will make a saving.
